About Camden Council
Located in New South Wales and covering a total land area of about 200 square kilometres, Camden Council is currently the fastest growing Local Government Area (LGA) in Australia, with a population expected to increase from the current 140,000 to more than 240,000 by 2036. The Camden LGA is bounded by Liverpool City Council to the north, Campbelltown City Council to the east, and Wollondilly Shire Council to the south and west.
Camden Council faced increasing demand for kerbside clean-up services due to rapid population growth, leading to higher workloads and inefficient manual data entry processes. The lack of a self-service booking option resulted in a high volume of calls and emails, overwhelming Customer Relations and Waste Administration teams.
Camden Council partnered with AMCS to implement an integrated online booking portal powered by the Wastedge API, enabling residents to book kerbside clean-ups easily via the Council’s website. The system automates notifications throughout the booking process, reducing manual tasks and improving communication with residents.
The new booking system enhanced customer experience by providing 24/7 online access and reducing calls and emails to the Council. It also significantly cut manual data entry, saving staff time and allowing them to focus on other key projects while planning future service expansions.
The new system has significantly reduced manual data entry for Waste Administration and Customer Relations, saving hours of staff time daily.
