Due to the risk of ignition, some liquid fuel products cannot be carried in adjacent compartments.
Add in different requirements regarding compartment size versus on-site delivery, unloading restrictions, and weight distribution issues, and it’s easy to see there’s a lot to factor in when planning fuel distribution.

In this short webinar (just 20 mins!), we present the AMCS Fuel Planner and dive into one of the core modules: the VMI Manager. Join us, as we seek to answer the important question: Is your fuel supply chain optimized with VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory)?
To learn more about AMCS Fuel Planner and VMI Manager, please watch our On Demand webinar, in which our Nordics Sales Director, Jan Tønder, introduces AMCS Intelligent Optimization for Downstream Fuel and shows how the integrated VMI Manager handles automatic order generation and planning for fuel tank replenishment. This scalable, cloud-based solution is rich in functionality and tailored for transport of fuel while also being highly configurable. Because it is not necessary to lock in plans, the solution contributes to moving from a rigid to an agile form of working; orders can be swapped around during planning and execution - giving real time optimization of routes and deliveries and guaranteeing that generated orders are locked at a certain time based on best case scenarios. On top of this, the solution can be fully integrated to your existing depot, ERP and/or supply systems.
The VMI Manager is one integrated module, and can calculate expected demand for a certain period of time and automatically generate orders on this basis. Part of the VMI Manager is the automatic order-generation process where the system collects historical data, generates consumption curves for each tank and uses stock levels to calculates time of replenishment. Then, an order can be generated, planned and optimized.
One platform for streamlined fuel distribution
Our cloud-based, enterprise-grade platform supports the fuel distribution industry to work smarter and more efficiently.
We deliver scalable, solutions that facilitate intelligent optimization and digitization, helping you fast track growth with sector-specific functionality not found in generic ERP offerings:
- Simplify scheduling with automatic compartment load planning and an overview of actual truck and hangar compartments.
- Automatically organize order sizes to fit according to compartments and route optimization.
- Update actual vehicle stock levels per compartment as trips are executed.
- View data on specific tanks, order replenishment, expected consumption rates, and subsequent dry running.
- Automatically forecast activity for specific tanks based on historical data and manual or automatic VMI measurement of tank levels.
- View master data on home and source depots including opening hours, product types, capacity, and qualifications.
- Easily balance the costs of lifting products at source depots against transportation costs during the planning process.
Our fuel planning solutions are based on extensive industry-specific knowledge.
This makes AMCS first choice for transport challenges in the oil, gas, and petrol distribution industry.

The agile fuel distributor: how to up your game
To use rigid processes is to work in a sequential order of tasks. As you work, you tick the boxes. Orders. Forecasting. Optimisation. Lifting. Delivering. Cash. In other words, business as usual.
How reducing operating costs can reduce your carbon footprint
If you could put fewer vehicles on the road without sacrificing your bottom line, not only would you lower your carbon emissions, you’d also lower your operating costs. That’s an intriguing notion and presents a win-win all around.
