Nottingham City Council is to improve the productivity and efficiency of its trade waste and recycling operation with new software and mobile technology system from AMCS, the leading supplier of software and vehicle technology for the waste and recycling industry
The new solution, worth an estimated £65,000, will replace a number of more manual and legacy applications. This will enable Nottingham City Council to consolidate to a single system running across the entire operation including vehicles, weighbridge, and back-office.
Implementation of the market-leading ERP software, AMCS 7, will result in a single operation and invoicing system, significantly improving both efficiency and accuracy. AMCS Fleet Planner combined with mobile technology across the fleet will optimize routing, increase productivity, and realize significant cost savings.
Commenting on the investment, Daniel Ayrton, Business Development Manager for Nottingham City Council said: “As our trade waste and recycling service continues to grow we are always looking for ways to improve operational efficiency and the service we deliver to our customers. Implementation of a single system running across our operation will enable us to optimize our logistics and streamline our administration. It will also provide real-time data allowing us to quickly and proactively react to our customers’ needs. In addition, when consolidated and analyzed, this data will play an important role in enabling us to plan for future growth.”
Pat Murray, Key Account Manager, AMCS also commented saying: “We look forward to working with Nottingham City Council to implement their new system and to help them to realize the commercial, environmental and service benefits that this solution will deliver. Local authorities play an important role in the delivery of commercial waste and recycling services and this is a market in which we expect to see considerable future growth.”
Implementation of the new system is currently underway with the rollout expected to be complete by the end of the year. In addition to the new software and mobile system AMCS also provides on-board vehicle weighing technology to Nottingham City Council through two UK partners.
