This is a role for a technical lead — someone who still enjoys building, automating, troubleshooting, and improving platforms, while coaching others and raising standards.
What You'll Do
Act as the senior escalation point for complex incidents (root cause, permanent fixes, post-incident improvements)
Lead root-cause analysis, define permanent fixes, and ensure lessons learned are embedded through documentation and process improvements
Take ownership of technically challenging problems and see them through end-to-end, from investigation to resolution and follow-up
Lead technical workstreams for initiatives such as office moves, network and firewall refreshes, cloud and hybrid improvements, and acquired-company integrations
Work closely with vendors, internal stakeholders, and other IT teams to deliver changes safely and effectively
Improve platform reliability and performance through proactive monitoring, automation, patching, and repeatable operational processes
Work closely with the Information Systems team to support audit readiness and evidence capture aligned to ISO27001, SOC, and internal control frameworks
Work closely with the Cyber Security team to ensure security best practices are embedded across identity, endpoint, network, and infrastructure platforms
Contribute to continuous improvement of security posture, resilience, and risk management
Provide day-to-day technical direction and mentoring to engineers; help them develop deeper expertise and confidence
Set clear expectations around ownership, accountability, quality, and follow-through
Support individual development, progression planning, and readiness for increased responsibility
Partner with IT Operations leadership on workload planning, risk management, and delivery priorities
