About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect/Analyst who will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and managing the organisation's data architecture and analytics framework. This position will ensure that data systems are structured efficiently to support business objectives, enhance decision-making capabilities, and improve the overall customer experience. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in data architecture, database management, and data analytics, along with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.


We can consider candidates who wish to work fully onsite, hybrid or remote for this role. This is initially a 12 month Fixed Term Contract and we can also consider a daily rate contractor


Key Responsibilities:

·          Data Architecture Design:

Ø  Develop, maintain, and optimise data architecture and models that support organisational objectives, ensuring scalability and performance.

Ø  Design effective data flows and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources into a unified data environment.


·          Data Management:

Ø  Oversee the implementation and management of data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Ø  Monitor data storage systems and database performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal operation.


·          Data Analysis:

Ø  Perform complex data analysis and reporting to support business initiatives, providing actionable insights and recommendations based on data trends.

Ø  Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify reporting requirements and create dashboards and visualisations to communicate key metrics and insights.


·          Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:

Ø  Work closely with IT, business units, and external partners to ensure data architecture aligns with business needs and technology requirements.

Ø  Facilitate workshops and meetings to identify data needs and ensure effective communication regarding data strategy and governance.

·          Technology and Tools:

Ø  Stay informed about the latest technologies and best practices in data architecture and analytics, recommending improvements and innovations accordingly.

Ø  Evaluate and implement data management and analytics tools that enhance the organisation's data capabilities.


·          Documentation and Standards:

Ø  Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, models, policies, and procedures to provide clarity and guide best practices.

Ø  Develop and enforce data management standards and best practices for data usage across the organisation.


Qualifications:

·          Education:

Ø  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field; Master's degree is preferred.


Experience:

Ø  Minimum of [X] years of experience in data architecture, data analysis, and database management.

Ø  Proven experience with data modelling, ETL processes, and data governance frameworks.


Skills and Competencies:

Ø  Proficient in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift).

Ø  Strong skills in ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Apache Nifi) and data integration methodologies.

Ø  Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for effective reporting and presentation of insights.

Ø  Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) is a plus.

Ø  Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.

Ø  Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
