This is a hybrid role and would require successful candidates to be present onsite at least 3x a week.

About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AI Engineer to join our technology team. This role will focus on designing, developing, and deploying AI/ML solutions that enhance business processes, drive innovation, and support strategic initiatives within a greenfield team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AI technologies and familiarity with Azure and GCP offerings, enabling seamless integration across platforms.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Software & Data Engineering background with proven experience in implementing machine learning models into applications and understanding of how AI platforms work. You will maintain a strong focus on the reliability and performance of our systems centred around a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable AI/ML models using AI services tooling.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions.
Develop and maintain data pipelines.
Deploy models using Azure Machine Learning and/or Vertex AI.
Monitor model performance and retrain as needed to maintain accuracy and relevance.
Ensure responsible AI practices including fairness, transparency, and security.
Contribute to the development of internal AI frameworks and reusable components.
Stay current with AI trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic direction.
Possess a good understanding of cloud platforms and their related Data and Service offerings to be able to contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, resilient architectures across Azure Fabric and GCP
Ensure good quality code with high levels of code coverage that follow best Engineering practices.
Mentor engineers, fostering best practices in code review, testing, and documentation
About you
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
2+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering roles.
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and relevant ML libraries.
Experience with Azure & GCP AI tooling and services.
Strong understanding of data engineering concepts and tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, GCP Dataflow).
Experience with MLOps practices and tools (e.g., MLflow, Azure DevOps, Kubeflow).
Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Proven track record of deploying AI solutions in production environments.
Experience working in enterprise environments with Microsoft and GCP ecosystems.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, data modelling, and cloud-native architectures.
Proficiency with tooling for ETL (Data Factory, Dataflow), Analysis and BI/Reporting (PowerBi, Looker Studio, etc.).
Experience of implementing Datamarts and Data warehouses (SQL, BigQuery, Snowflake)
Knowledge of Data and Event streaming tooling (Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, etc.)
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana and DataDog.
A keen interest in AI technologies and tooling and how they can be leveraged by teams to accelerate Delivery and value to the business and our customers.
