AMCS Transportation Management System (TMS)

With the 8.5 release, we are launching the new AMCS Transportation Management System (TMS). This exciting new solution offers highly automated and integrated functionality to manage every aspect of transport including planning, rostering, dispatch, live tracking, and driver mobile application. It includes an intuitive and modern user interface to facilitate ease and speed of planning. It exploits best-in-class technology such as embedded maps as well as a distance calculation component to arrive at feasible routes and accurate service times for each stop.

It will deliver enhanced productivity through increased automated planning, the optimization of the use of assets (vehicles, containers, etc.) and resources, improved operational control and visibility for both planning and during service execution, improved driver safety as well as delivering superior customer service.

Feature highlights include:

  • Rostering: The planner has access to a calendar showing the future availability of all staff and vehicles which reflects any planned absences, maintenance schedules, etc. The planner can work in daily, weekly, and monthly views to identify and resolve any scheduling issues and constraints so as to ensure that dispatch can readily assign drivers and helpers to the available tracks as needed.
  • Planning: The planner can review and edit each route in a list view and on a map presentation. The planner can edit each route, dragging and dropping stops across routes and making any necessary planning refinements, and view the results on the embedded maps before release to AMCS Mobile. This planning and mapping function avails of an integrated distance calculation component which shows how routes are planned in a timeline view. Thus, the dispatcher has a clear view of how the routes will be driven on the map and with an accurate timeline to ensure that the route is feasible. Our embedded mapping software can also support special vehicle attributes, ensuring that the planned routes follow rules for vehicle-specific attributes such as length, weight, height, and width.
  • Execution: Once the finalized routes have been submitted to the drivers AMCS Mobile in-cab application, then the dispatcher can track the execution of the routes in real-time and make adjustments where necessary such as assigning new orders and responding to unforeseen events like delays and breakdowns.

  • New Helper Mode to boost productivity

This latest release delivers support whereby a driver and helper can log in to the same route via AMCS mobile on their individual mobile devices and read customer site-specific notes as well as provide feedback on service completion with both devices synchronizing updates on progress. The helper can quickly mark any non-collected items and capture images of services blockers (access issues, contamination, overfilling, extra bags, etc.). These features will boost the productivity of the helper and driver and provide valuable service and financial information to your organization.

  • Geofencing to increase control and visibility

With 8.5, your organization can define geofences on the integrated maps within the AMCS Platform to reflect your outlets, customer site, and third party disposal sites so there is visibility on when your truck has crossed a geofence to visit one of these sites. It can also automatically record the time spent on these sites which can be an important factor in determining the cost and efficiency of this visit and the cost to service a particular customer.

  • EBA ( Electronisch Begeleidingsbrief Afval) PreNotificatiions (Assured Compliance with Dutch Regulatory Requirements)
  • Ability to send pre notifications for electronic waste notes to destination disposal sites for Route, Skip, and Roll-off workflows as required under Dutch legislation for tracking of waste movements
  • The driver can see on AMCS Mobile that pre-notification has been sent to destination scale thus avoiding any delays at the disposal site
  • Digital Video Recording Integration to automatically capture service images
  • The ability for AMCS Mobile to receive and display images from an on-board DVR system that is taking streams from multiple camera feeds such as a hopper camera (capturing contamination) and a side camera (service-related bins not out, blockages, etc.). These images are sent automatically to the AMCS Platform where they can be used to ensure an accurate picture of the service and to support customer feedback.
